Harry Kane will break Alan Shearer’s Premier League record with or without Man Utd transfer

 

Harry Kane enjoyed a spectacular 2022-23 season as he notched 30 goals in 38 Premier League appearances.  

The same thing cannot be said about his club Tottenham Hotspur who finished a lowly eighth to miss out on any form of European football next term. 

With Spurs far off from competing for a major trophy in the near future, Kane is tipped to leave the North Londoners this summer. 

Clubs outside of England are reportedly interested to sign the 29-year-old but he wants to stay in the Premier League so he could break Alan Shearer’s record of 260 goals. 

The striker is currently on 213 goals and only needs 47 more to equal the tally of Shearer – Newcastle United’s all-time top scorer. 

Considering there are no injuries, Kane should be able to reach that mark in the next two seasons. But even if his form drops off, he can still be expected to achieve the feat within three more years. 

Chairman Daniel Levy is said to be keen on selling him to a foreign club and not to a direct Premier League rival. But Kane would likely resist such a move as he wants to play in the English top-flight. 

The 29-year-old’s most likely destination seems to be Manchester United who are desperately looking to sign a striker and are very keen on him. 

But if a deal fails to materialise, he is expected to stay at Tottenham for another year. If that is the case, then the experienced centre-forward will be able to sign a pre-contract with another club in January. 

Whether he ends up joining Man Utd or not, Kane will break Alan Shearer’s record to become the all-time Premier League top scorer.
